Why can’t I sign up my child under 5 for a 30-minute class?

Our experience has shown that a 15-minute lesson is most effective for brand new, young swimmers. Private lessons are focused solely on the one student, thus they are exerting more energy than you might expect. When they get tired, their ability to perform or retain new skills is significantly reduced. Additionally, young children are less able to regulate their body temperature and often get cold around the 15 minute mark.

If your child has had previous experience and is comfortable with full submersion, we can begin with 15-minute lessons and your coach will recommend when to switch to 30 minute lessons.
